How covered are you?

What the gaps mean

Florida only requires the first two, PIP and PDL. Everything below them is optional by law, but some of those optional pieces are the ones that actually protect your finances. A few worth understanding:

  • Bodily Injury Liability pays for injuries you cause to others, and Florida doesn't require it, which leaves a real gap.
  • Uninsured Motorist matters because roughly one in five Florida drivers has no coverage at all.
  • Comprehensive and collision protect your own car, including hurricane and flood damage, but are only worth it up to the car's value.

Informational only, not advice. This checklist helps you spot gaps to discuss with a licensed Florida insurance professional. It isn't a recommendation for your specific situation.
